Our sailmaker’s yard was established in 1951 as a department of the Yacht Shipyard. J. Conrad, and since 1987 we sew sails under the name Sail Service. Currently, 67 sailing ships from 23 countries sail under our sails. Our sails can be found on the largest sailing ships in the world, expedition yachts and racing units. We use the highest quality fabrics for horizontal, radial and membrane sails.
In 2016, we completed orders for over 78,000 m2 of sails and approximately 1,250 covers. In order to meet these tasks, 40 employees work in two shifts in the 1,500 m2 sailmaker’s yard. Many of our employees are sailors who simultaneously test their products during regattas and long voyages.
